Loretta J. Ross

Associate Professor, Smith College and Co-founder, SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective

Loretta Ross is an award-winning, nationally-recognized expert on racism and racial justice, women’s rights, and human rights. Her work emphasizes the intersectionality of social justice issues and how intersectionality can fuel transformation. Ross is faculty at Smith College in the Program for the Study of Women and Gender. She has co-written three books on reproductive justice and has another coming in 2021. She was a co-founder and the National Coordinator, from 2005 to 2012, of the SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective. text text text text text text text

Sadia Haider, MD MPH

Vice-Chair of Research and Faculty Affairs, Director, Division of Family Planning, Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Rush University

Dr. Haider is the Vice Chair of Research and Faculty Affairs, the Division Director of Family Planning, and an Associate Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Rush University. As a health-services researcher, Dr. Haider has several funded studies that utilize interdisciplinary approaches to test strategies, which aim to improve contraception access and provision. She practices as and OB/GYN and provides full-spectrum family planning care. Dr. Haider is an advocate for reproductive rights and works to improve women’s health domestically and globally.

Kristyn Brandi, MD MPH

Attending Physician, Family Planning Specialist, Director, Kenneth J. Ryan Residency Training Program, Assistant Professor, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Health, Rutgers – New Jersey Medical School

Dr. Brandi is an Assistant Professor at Rutgers – New Jersey Medical School, where she completed her medical school and residency. She completed a Family Planning Fellowship at Boston University where she also earned her MPH with a concentration in Health Law, Bioethics and Human Rights. Her research is on reproductive decision making, contraceptive coercion, and racism in reproductive health care. She serves as the Board Chair of Physicians for Reproductive Health, sits on several sub-committees for the Society of Family Planning and is a founding member of Centering Equity, Racial and Cultural Literacy in Family Planning (CERCL-FP). She proudly identifies as a Latina bisexual abortion provider and her pronouns are she/her/ella.

Angélique Bouthot, MEd

Community Advisory Board Member

Angélique recently completed her MEd in Community Engagement from Merrimack College, where her capstone, Self-Advocacy in the Exam Room: Tips and Techniques for Contraceptive Care, positioned access to person-centered contraceptive care as the social justice issue we know it to be. Her work encompasses community outreach, health promotion, social justice education, and customer service and engagement. Her favorite topics include sexual health, pleasure, communication, queerness, relationships, and access to care. She has been a member of PICCK’s CAB since 2019 and has worked at Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, Merrimack College, and the Office of Wellness Education at Framingham State University.

Jill Clark, MPH

Director, Division of Child/Adolescent Health and Reproductive Health, Massachusetts Department of Public Health

Jill Clark is currently the Director of the Division of Child/Adolescent Health and Reproductive Health at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. She provides leadership and strategic direction for school, community, and clinical programs intended to provide better access to sexual and reproductive health clinical services, education, and primary care for youth and adults. Rachel Cannon, MD MSc

Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Boston University School of Medicine, Ryan Residency Program Director, Boston Medical Center

Dr. Cannon is Assistant Professor at the Boston University School of Medicine and is the Ryan Residency Program Director for the OB/GYN residency at Boston Medical Center. David Turok, MD MPH

Chief, Division of Family Planning, Department of OB/GYN, University of Utah

David Turok directs the Family Planning Division in the Department of OB/GYN at the University of Utah. He is an active clinician, educator, and researcher. Chantel Bethea

Community Advisory Board Member

Chantel has four children; Chantel is a huge advocate for education and access, she has been involved in the community of Worcester for 12 years. Her reason for wanting to be a part of the community is simple. Her children. She wants her children to have more opportunities than she did and not have to jump through the hoops that their mother had to. Chantel is a true warrior and fighter. She holds back nothing. She always speaks her mind through the lens of love.

Melody Y. Hou, MD MPH

Associate Professor, Clinical OB/GYN, Director of Medical Student Education in OB/GYN, University of California, Davis School of Medicine

Dr. Hou is the Director of Medical Student Education and is an Associate Professor of Clinical OB/GYN in the Division of Family Planning at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine. She graduated from Harvard Medical School, completed residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and trained as a fellow in Complex Family Planning at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts. She served as faculty at Boston Medical Center before moving to UC Davis in 2012.
