Immediate postpartum long-acting reversible contraception (IPP LARC) provision has been endorsed by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Centers for Disease Control and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid. Widespread use of LARC, especially in the immediate postpartum period, is key to preventing unintended pregnancy, and the financial benefits to the patient, state, and insurer are undeniable.
